Mission

Eastlake Little League wants to provide our children an environment that creates positive memories, develops self-confidence, reinforces the "Golden Rule" and allows kids access to learning fundamental baseball and softball skills.

To accomplish this we need people and we need to support them. The right people, doing the right things, for the right reasons.

The right people: People that have a heart for children and some time to share

Doing the right things: People passing on special skills and life experiences to achieve the stated goal

For the right reasons: People with the desire to make a positive difference in a child's life.

We believe there are more than enough of the "right people" in the area, all that is missing is a stronger relationship with our community and Eastlake Little League's ability to effectively communicate our needs. We will strengthen that relationship through various community events, as well as, Little League membership, merchant sponsorships, our website (www.eastlakell.org) and our continued communications.

Once we have identified enough of the right people, we must support them.

First, by recognizing the importance of our managers and coaches, and their ability to focus on the kids while with them, which means having others responsible for preparing the fields and insuring that there will be umpires at every game. A second way we will support the volunteers is to define the tasks that need to be done in writing and the time expected to do them, in an effort to manage the expectations of the volunteers and to avoid having people take on more duties than they would like to. The third way is by providing access at all levels of volunteerism, through educational and instructional clinics, videos and written material.

.....and some people see the way things could be and ask & why not? - [George Bernard Shaw]
